Common BarShift questions.

These answers cover the core behaviour of BarShift and how it works with Chrome bookmarks.

BarShift treats the real Chrome bookmark bar as the active profile. Other profiles remain ordinary Chrome bookmark folders. When you switch profiles, BarShift changes which profile's bookmarks are shown in the bookmark bar.

No. BarShift is designed around normal Chrome bookmarks and bookmark folders. It does not create a separate developer-operated bookmark database.

BarShift keeps bookmark contents as ordinary Chrome bookmarks. If Chrome bookmark sync is enabled in your browser, Chrome remains responsible for synchronizing that bookmark data according to your Chrome settings.

Yes. BarShift can save the current page directly to another visible profile without first making that profile active.

No. BarShift does not transmit bookmark contents, URLs, titles or BarShift settings to the developer. See the full Privacy Policy for the exact data-use details.

Your bookmarks remain Chrome bookmarks. Removing BarShift does not create a separate developer-held copy of your bookmark data.
